This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody or has been released, pull an official record, release anyone, or post bond. Contact the agency that holds the record.

Choose the Correct Record Office

Montmorency County inmates are housed at the Alpena County Correctional Facility. That means the physical booking and exit record normally comes from Alpena, even when Montmorency deputies made the arrest and Montmorency courts handled the case. Use the contacts below according to the record sought.

Alpena County Correctional Facility

4900 M-32 West
Alpena, MI 49707
Corrections: 989-354-9830, option 4
Public counter: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Ask Alpena Corrections about current physical custody, a booking or release entry, the release date and time, release reason, destination, property processing, or pickup logistics. Posted counter hours are not promised release-processing hours, so verify details before traveling. The official jail contact form is another route.

Montmorency County Sheriff Records

ATTN: Records Department
11045 M-32 West
Atlanta, MI 49709
Phone: 989-785-4238
Records fax: 989-785-4471

Use the Sheriff’s FOIA instructions for Montmorency-created arrest, warrant-service, transport, or related records. The Atlanta office should not be treated as the physical jail. Request the Alpena booking or release event from Alpena when that is the record needed.

Montmorency County Courts

88th District Court
12265 M-32
Atlanta, MI 49709
Phone: 989-785-8035
Fax: 989-785-8036
Posted hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The official Montmorency court search page separates the 88th District and 26th Circuit Court searches. Contact the appropriate clerk for a bond order, judgment, sentence, register of actions, or probation-discharge entry. A court order establishes legal authority, while Alpena’s release entry documents the physical exit.

Michigan Corrections Records

For a sentenced state prisoner, parolee, probationer, or discharged MDOC record, use the MDOC OTIS search. OTIS assistance is listed at 517-335-1426. Use the official MDOC records or FOIA channel for the underlying corrections document; do not send confidential identifiers to an unverified address.

Federal and Immigration Custody

Use the BOP Inmate Locator only for a federal case or BOP record. For possible current immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator or the ICE detention information line. A transfer to BOP, USMS, or ICE is not a community release, and no ICE result does not prove release.
